VU Games Future and E3 Lineup

The cacophony of E3 lineup announcements began to crescendo late this week, with the remaining major publishers announcing their lineups for E3. Today, VU Games added its own voice the growing chorus, announcing its showcase for next week's convention. Ironically, two of the main draws at the company's booth will be the same as last year's E3. Half-Life 2 and StarCraft: Ghost will headline the lineup, with the former being promoted with two demos at the VU and ATI booths. Interestingly, VU's announcement expressly did not mention when Half-Life 2 would ship, saying merely "Half-Life 2 will be available for the PC." It was the same story for StarCraft: Ghost, which was billed as only being available for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube sometime in the future.

Several other games at the event have also had long roads to development, including Fahrenheit and the eagerly anticipated World of Warcraft, both of which were announced in 2001. However, VU will exhibit plenty of new titles as well. The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, an Xbox-exclusive prequel to the upcoming Chronicles of Riddick movie, willbe present, as will the just-announced, similarly sci-fi-inspired Predator: Concrete Jungle.
