Thanks Michel who mailed me late last night about the recent outbreak of W32/BugBear-mm which has now been updated to High-Risk by McAfee and Message Labs.
What is it?
A mass-mailing virus, which also appears to have the ability to disable or disarm AV software. It appears to contain a key-logging Trojan that potentially could be used to steal passwords and credit-card details through an open port which may allow hackers to manipulate the infected PC.
so if you dont run AV software, do us all a favour and get one, we are still being swamped with Klez infected emails, the source is virtually undetectable because it mails itself as anyone on your address book. Enable your virus scanner "Scan outgoing email" option, if you don't have a virus scanner you should get one or take the time to get an online virus scan.
