Wacom is a company quite well-known for designing digital styluses and drawing tablets. The firm garnered quite some attention, particularly after launching the Cintiq Companion tablet in 2013, available in both Android and full-fledged Windows 8. It also released its successor back in 2015, which was also well-received. Now, the company has announced the Wacom MobileStudio Pro, a lightweight series boasting powerful Windows 10 tablets with stylus support.
The series sports the newly-designed Wacom Pro Pen 2, which features four times more pen accuracy and pressure sensitivity compared to its previous iteration. The company touts it as the "ultimate creative tool" for professionals and 2D, 3D and CAD designers. The tablets feature improved resolution and color performance, along with 3D cameras.
The Wacom MobileStudio Pro tablets offer display sizes of 13.3" and 15.6", and are available in six different configurations. Four of these models are included in the "13" series and feature a 13.3" IPS display with a 2.5K (WQHD) resolution and 96% Adobe RGB. The remaining two models listed in the "16" series sport a 15.6" IPS display with a 4K (UHD) resolution and 94% Adobe RGB. The pricing details are as follows:
Wacom MobileStudio Pro 13

Wacom notes that the 3D camera is included on both variants of the Wacom MobileStudio Pro 16, but only in the 512GB version of the 13 series. The company states that the machines are capable of running Photoshop, Illustrator and other "demanding" 3D creative applications. Ed Neumann, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Wacom's Creative Branded Business says:
Unlike most general-purpose mobile tablets created for the mass market, Wacom's MobileStudio Pro was designed specifically for the needs of the creative professional and how they work. Our long-standing relationship with the professional creative community enabled us to develop a game-changing solution for the creative market that exceeds customer expectations and provides the best, most natural and precise creative experience imaginable.
The Wacom MobileStudio Pro series is expected to be available online and at select retail stores starting in November.
