If you're a Windows Insider who is running Windows 10 Mobile on the Fast ring, you're in for a pleasant surprise today, as there's an update to the Wallet app waiting for you. The update is Wallet 2.0, and it [finally] brings support for NFC tap to pay.
The app description doesn't show anything new yet. This could be for a number of reasons, such as that it takes a few days for a Store listing to change after an update is released. It's also possible that Microsoft simply wants to make a bigger announcement out of this. After all, Apple Pay and Android Pay were significant milestones for their respective platforms.
Details of the service are sketchy at best right now. We don't know which regions it will be available in, what devices it will support, or which banks will allow you to enlist your credit card. At the moment, it seems to only be available in the United States, but it could be a staged rollout.
You can check for the update right here.
Of course, we're Insiders, so it's our job to experiment. Did you get the update in your region? Were you able to add all of your credit/debit cards? Let us know in the comments!
