On Wednesday, T-Mobile launched the Lumia 710, the first of Nokia's Windows Phone-based smartphones to be sold in the US. The price for the Lumia 710 is just $49.99 with a new two year contract with T-Mobile. However there is a way to get the phone with the same two year contract without having to pay anything for the hardware.
Walmart's smartphone web site Let's Talk is now offering the Lumia 710 for free. The offer applies only to all new two year contracts. If you already have a T-Mobile account that you want to upgrade you will still have to pay $49.99 for the Lumia 710.
Still, if you really want to try out what Nokia and Microsoft have to offer and you don't have a T-Mobile account, this is certainly a quick and easy way to do so.
Nokia announced at CES that the Lumia 900 is coming "soon" to AT&T with unconfirmed reports that a mid-March launch date is planned. In addition, Microsoft has announced that it will sell unlocked versions of the Lumia 800 in the US in its Microsoft Stores sometime in the near future.
