WarCraft III Gone Gold

It seems that Blizzard could not hide it from the public any longer. Wednesday, whispers were flying around the web that WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos had gone gold. However, these reports were denied by a Blizzard employee as he continued on to say that they had "yet to make an official announcement." Oh, how much difference a day makes. The very highly anticipated sequel in the WarCraft series (with record breaking pre-orders of 4.5 million copies) has been completed and is now in the gold stage of development.

The consumer once again visits the world of Azeroth where a generation has past since the Second War between the Humans and the Orcs. The world has become unstable after a generation of peace, as a dark presence has begun to cloud the land. Two new races, the Night Elves and the Undead, join the battle as the player unveils an epic story through four campaigns.

The game will include a new type of warrior, the Hero, who has role-playing characteristics. The Hero has the capabilities of learning spells and other special abilities as he gains experience and raises levels throughout the campaign.

The release date is set for a worldwide release on July 3rd and it will cost approximately $55-60. Start saving your nickels and dimes (and for the rich ones, quarters) as this game promises to be a smash hit. At IGNPC, we have already started scavenging loose change from the local phone booths.
