We Happy Few was revealed as an Xbox Game Preview title at E3 2016, and has since then, been delayed a few times. At its E3 conference today, Microsoft has announced yet another release date for the intriguing title, stating that it will be arriving on August 10 this year.
We Happy Few offers a rather interesting but disturbing premise, in which the player has to survive in the dystopian fictional English village Wellington Wells. Apparently, the storyline takes places in a post-WWII alternate reality where the British fended off a German invasion, but in the process, did a "Very Bad Thing" which left the citizens of Wellington Wells stricken with guilt, and forced to take medication called "Joy" to cope with their reality. People who don't conform to this get the living daylights beaten out of them.

In related news, We Happy Few developer Compulsion Games is also one of the five studios that Microsoft has recently acquired, as it announced at its E3 event today.
We Happy Few is slated for a release on August 10, 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, barring any unforeseen delays, of course.
