What Remains of Edith Finch launched on April 25 on PlayStation 4 and PC, and received critical acclaim for its gritty story and enticing gameplay. Gamers on Xbox One will finally be able to experience this gem starting next week, after the developer Giant Sparrow announced the official launch date of July 19. The studio behind the game received a BAFTA award for its previous debut game The Unfinished Swan.
The game follows the story of a family who believed that a curse has hung over their family for decades, with each member dying an untimely death leaving only one child to carry their name forward. They try to escape the blight by moving to America and take their house with them. Unfortunately, the father dies after the crossing when the house sinks beneath the waves of the Pacific, and so the remaining children build a house from the salvage.
You play as Edith tracing back her family heritage, by visiting her ancestral home and uncovering these stories, through exploring the house that was built so many years ago. The house, filled with mazes and puzzles hides many secrets about the "most unfortunate family" in America.
