Teaser campaigns clearly aim to generate buzz by way of viral marketing strategies. The latest teaser is provided by Samsung and their What's Everyone Looking At? campaign. There is a countdown clock until noon Eastern Time on April 24th, at which point the next hint (or actual product announcement) is expected.
Staying true to the mystique generated by Microsoft's Origami Project, it would not be too surprising to discover only a second clue when the clock ticks down to zero. It might actually be a UMPC-related product, or simply that gigantic organic LCD television display announced at recent consumer electronics shows.
What makes this particular campaign only half-intriguing is the fact that there was a full-blown online advertising campaign as well. Unlike other true viral marketing efforts, this one is hoping to buy the buzz. To be determined at noon today.
