About a year ago, WhatsApp introduced a file-sharing feature, allowing users to share any type of documents through WhatsApp. Until now this has been limited to documents only. But this is about to change very soon.
WhatsApp has begun rolling out a new feature to its beta users, which allows them to share any type of files, including APKs. This also means that users can now share images and videos uncompressed.
There is, of course, a maximum size limit for the files you can share, which is 128MB for iOS and 100MB for Android users. You can also share files through the WhatsApp Desktop and Web clients, as long as the file is under 64MB.
Currently, this feature is being rolled out to a small number of beta users only. Hopefully, this feature will become available to everyone eventually, although there has been no word from WhatsApp regarding this.
