A new build of Windows 10 Technical Preview has leaked online straight from Microsoft’s servers but the image is encrypted and can’t be installed just yet.
Build 10061 can be downloaded through a Windows Update link, but can’t be installed. Though the image is official and untampered with, it can’t be installed because of the encryption. Previous leaked builds were usually decrypted with same RSA key, but it looks like Microsoft has made some changes and that no longer works.
Interestingly enough this build is the same one that showed up a week ago, directly in Windows Update for some users, though it didn't install then either.
Of course enthusiasts are trying to the decrypt the image as we speak, but that might not be possible until Microsoft pushes out a new build using the same encryption key. Then again we wouldn’t’ discount the community so the new build might become installable in short order.
In either case we’re only a week away from BUILD where Microsoft will hopefully surprise everyone with new details of Windows 10, as well as release new preview builds.
Thanks Faikee for the tip!
