Having an app crash while you're using it is never fun, but Microsoft has added a little Easter egg to its latest Windows 10 Insider Preview that might just make some people crack a smile if that happens.
Ordinarily, if an app crashes in Windows 10, you'll see a dialog appear, telling you that "Windows is checking for a solution to the problem":
But since installing the latest Insider Preview for PCs - build 16232, which was released to the Fast ring on Wednesday - several Insiders have noticed an unexpected change...
The dialog now tells Insiders that it's "opening a portal to another dimension" - perhaps some new, experimental layer to Microsoft's troubleshooting efforts. Hey, it's gotta beat reading through the Microsoft Community forums for help, right?
Of course, while Insiders might get a giggle out of it, it's extremely unlikely that the revised dialog will make its way into the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update when it becomes generally available for all users later this year. But it has got us wondering: what other Easter eggs and in-jokes might be lurking in the latest Insider Preview builds?
Let us know if you spot any others...!
