Fon is a European company that specializes in providing wireless internet access, claiming to provide "the world's largest Wi-Fi network with leading carriers, offering paid Wi-Fi access at more than 20 million residential hotspots across five continents", as well as thousands of other 'premium' hotspots.
Today, Fon announced that it has teamed up with Microsoft to offer easy access to its Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide for Windows 10 users, providing a simple payment process through the Windows Store.
"Windows 10 users with registered payment details will be able to pay with just one click," Fon said today. "These customers will not need to login every time they start a session or go to a different Fon Hotspot – connectivity will be seamlessly enabled by Windows 10 throughout the validity of their WiFi pass."
Availability for Windows 10 users begins today, and it will "gradually be extended throughout the Fon network." Microsoft's Windows Store Core Program Management Director, Gregg Harmon, said that the company was "thrilled to be working with Fon to bring a better Wi-Fi experience to millions of hotspot locations globally."
In addition to its residential hotspots, Fon's "premium Wi-Fi locations" include 50 airports in Europe, along with thousands of other hotspots operated by Fon's carrier partners and other third parties.
