It has been discovered that a CD which contains a copy Windows 8 Milestone 3, is on sale at the popular internet auction site, eBay. The seller, which appears to be based in Canada, is offering the CD for $1,500 or $100 as a starting price for auction.
According to winrumours, it is not clear whether it is a genuine internal copy of Microsoft's next operating system or an unofficial version. Given that Microsoft obviously have rights to the product and that the seller has no right to sell the software, it is likely the company will be asking eBay very shortly to remove the item from the auction site.
It isn't surprising that there are some individuals that intend to make a few dollars, many have previously also posted leaked builds for sale with the hope that someone on the internet will be that eager get their hands on the software. However the build that the seller has posted will soon be out of date as it is expected that Microsoft will be showing off their pre-beta build of Windows 8 at WPC later this week. It's already been confirmed that the Redmond based company will be releasing a public beta of the OS at their BUILD conference in September.
The date in which Windows 8 will become readily available to the public has yet to be confirmed, however some sources suggest October 2012 while others are more optimistic by placing a date for RTM in April 2012.
