Microsoft is holding a Windows 8 event at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later on Wednesday, but a file containing what is purported to be a collection of wallpapers and lockscreens from the upcoming operating system has been leaked by Win8China, reports TechCrunch.
The RAR file can be downloaded from Win8China's link, and weighs in at 23.5 MB. It contains seven wallpapers and six lockscreens, almost all of which are nature-themed. Most of the images come in 1920x1200 resolution, except for a couple ultra-wide wallpapers that measure 3840x1200, which could be taken to imply that Microsoft will be designing Windows 8 with better multi-monitor support in mind.
Microsoft's event starts at 9am EST, where the company is expected to announce the final Windows 8 beta. The Windows 8 wallpapers and lockscreens are also supposed to be unveiled at the event, but in the meantime, you can start enjoying them early on your current operating system, whatever that may be.
