Since the last version of Windows Admin Center was made available earlier in the year in the form of version 1904.1, Microsoft has released a number of preview versions through its Insider program ahead of the next official version. Today, at its Ignite 2019 conference, the company has announced the general availability of Windows Admin Center version 1910.
There are a number of new high-level additions in this version of the infrastructure management solution, which include:
- Integration with Azure Security Center for end-to-end hybrid server environment security monitoring
- Easier extension of on-premises server environments to Azure with Azure Extended Networking and Azure NIC
- New preview of Performance Monitoring features to track and troubleshoot server and VM performance
- HCI configuration wizard to streamline setup of Azure Stack Hub HCI or Windows Server 2019 systems
In terms of features and refinements that have been released during the course of the last few preview versions, you can check out our Windows Admin Center coverage here.
If you're interested in getting your hands on the latest version of Windows Admin Center, you can download it from here once published and access the related product documentation. Otherwise, you can wait for it to be updated via Windows Update provided you have opted in to receive updates for other Microsoft products.
In either case, you may not want to let the upgrade task fall off your radar as the support policy for the management tool states that "users must stay current by upgrading to the latest Windows Admin Center release within 30 days of availability to remain supported".
