No I don't mean that dumb looking robot in "Short Circuit" 1, 2 and was there ever a 3? its the other artificial intelligence that updates you're equally artificial Windows installations. Currently its being targeted at Windows XP, making the recent year or so of doom-speak by hounds at The Register and its peers that MS is dumping its predecessors faster than yesterdays evening meal in the can more true than it was when it was predicted.
Beta testers who cared to fill out surveys, call in favors and badger people who "know how to get you on betas" can now login to BetaPlace and look at the program they shouldn't be able to get at present because Windows Update V5 requires SP2 (which no squeaky clean beta tester should have) however if you are a long term reader of Neowin, you probably downloaded a SP2 months ago, it hasn't been updated much since then as the official beta (just added on BetaPlace within the last week or so) still needs to get off the ground with more than the red bolded text on its program page saying "Yes, I would like to participate!"
Anyway there are some notes for the unlucky ones who didn't get on the beta in Read More, comment, tell all your friends or share how wonderful Microsoft really is but please, don't bother asking how to get SP2 because we aren't allowed to tell you. Thanks Gott for this exclusive news.
