A new beta version of WinRAR has just been released by RARLAB. WinRAR is a 32-bit Windows version of the RAR archiver, the powerful archiver and archive manager.
WinRAR compresses up to 30% better than ZIP. It provides complete support for RAR and ZIP archives and is also able to unpack CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZ, ACE, UUE, BZ2, JAR, and ISO archives.
What's new:
- Fixed a bug in GZIP module. Previous beta versions could report CRC errors, when testing correct GZIP archives.
- Switch -st renamed to -si to avoid conflicts with RAR 2.50 -std switch. Though -std is obsolete, some software may still use it to call RAR.
- WinRAR shell extension could create SFX archives with double ".exe.exe" extension.
