Well we didn't expect this one, it looks like Microsoft Romania have accidentally leaked the full release ahead of the Windows Phone 7.1 (Formerly "Mango" or "7.5") before the event in the next hour.
The article pins the following features to be coming to the platform:
Communication:
- Thread support: The messaging hub now integrates IM and SMS, all in the same thread. (We aren't so sure about this one, we'll confirm this shortly)
- Contact groups: Custom groups of multiple contacts, can be pinned as a live tile
- Twitter and LinkedIn "People hub" integration, deeper social integration including facial recognition for photos
- Linked Inbox: Bring together multiple inboxes in one place
- Hands free messaging: OS-wide speech to text integration
General Improvements:
- Live tile improvements
- Full multitasking support
- Bing Vision/Sound support
- IE9 integration with hardware support
- Local search: Find restaurants and activities near you
Additionally, the article goes on to say that more than 17,000 applications are now available on the marketplace, and confirms new partnerships with Acer, Fujitsu and ZTE. Microsoft also confirms that the SDK will be available in the next 24 hours, after the Mango launch events take place worldwide. Apparently, the Mango post will be available on the Windows Team Blog here.
We've noticed that there are tons of features missing from this "press release" -- we aren't exactly sure what's going on here. Neowin can confirm that this release is missing features that we know are coming to the platform. We expect to see the full feature set shown off in 30 minutes at the Mango events in London/New York.
Despite the translation reading that Mango will come "this summer," Neowin can still confirm the approximate release time of September. Long Zheng backs this up saying that "Mango is not coming "early summer". The Romanian translation is crap. It's coming "this autumn"."
