Hot on the heels of announcing a price drop for the Kinect for Xbox 360, Microsoft has also revealed plans to offer a different kind of hardware bundle for the Xbox 360 console.
The official Xbox.com web site has posted word that Microsoft will start selling the The Xbox 360 Essentials Pack sometime in October. The bundle collects an extra Xbox 360 wireless controller with a TV style remote control and an extra HDMI cable. There will also be a card that's good for three months on the Xbox Live Gold service.
The price of the The Xbox 360 Essentials Pack has been set for $79.99 for the US. Microsoft claims that price is about $55 less than if you bought all of the same items in this bundle separately. However, we wonder if some online retailers might offer discounts on these items that might close the price gap a bit.
This bundle is clearly made for the holiday gift giving crowd who might know a gamer who already owns an Xbox 360 but might appreciate the kinds of items that are offered in the The Xbox 360 Essentials Pack. There's no word on if this bundle will be sold in other countries.
