Microsoft officially announced today that they would be dropping the retail price of their 360 Core pack. UK gamers will save £10 (18USD) on each console, which is now priced at £199. The price drop is not surprising considering that retails stores in the UK have been selling the Core pack at this price for the past few weeks.
The Premium version of the 360, which includes a hard drive still has a RRP of GBP 279, and Microsoft refused to comment on whether a price drop for the premium package would come before Christmas. The price drop for the core system sees it close the gap between its American priced counterpart, with the difference now standing at £41 (77USD).
So, while British gamers are still being charged less, they can sleep safely tonight with the knowledge that at least Microsoft (sort of) loves them.
