During E3 2019, Annapurna Interactive announced Twelve Minutes, a time loop game that had a man trying to stop a violent home invasion. Today during the gamescom Opening Night Live event, the game received a brand new trailer, confirming it to be an Xbox console launch exclusive title and revealing its new all-star cast.
Although the characters will remain nameless throughout the game, Golden Globe nominee James McAvoy of the X-Men Franchise and Split fame plays the role of "The Man", with the wife's role - "The Woman" - being played by Star Wars star Daisy Ridley. Four-time Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe will be voicing "The Intruder."
"Working with this incredibly talented cast to bring Twelve Minutes to life has been amazing," said developer Luis Antonio. "Twelve Minutes blends the genres of film and games within an interactive thriller, and these extraordinary actors are perfect for bringing the nuanced and complex characters into the world."
Described as an interactive thriller, the game's events reset every time The Man fails to affect the outcome of the evening, which sends him back 12 minutes in time to try and thwart the incident using his newly gained knowledge.
Twelve Minutes will be releasing for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles as a console launch exclusive in addition to PC.
