While it's not as big as a full fledged game console launch or last year's launch of the Kinect device, the newest major Dashboard Update for Microsoft's Xbox 360 console is considered to be a major stepping stone for the Xbox division. So when will the actual update go live to everyone who owns an Xbox 360 console?
According to a Twitter message from Microsoft's Larry Hyrb, "Everyone should receive it by 10a ET/7a PT/15:00 UTC." While some Xbox 360 owners could receive the update earlier the 10 am Eastern time period sounds like that should be the latest Xbox 360 users will have to wait in order to receive all the new Dashboard changes.
That includes an all new user interface for the console that resembles the Metro-style tiles that can be sen in the Windows Phone 7 operating system and the upcoming Windows 8 OS. It also means the start of new live TV and video streaming options, with a few launching on Tuesday and more being added during December and into 2012.
If you have a Kinect device you can use it with the new Dashboard update to search, via Bing, for content on your Xbox 360 console using your voice. You can also use the Beacons feature to let friends know that you are ready to play a game with them. There's also the new cloud storage feature for users to access their profiles and game saves from a friends's Xbox 360.
