We are a little over a month away from the release of the highly anticipated Bethesda title, Fallout 76. While the beta will kick off for Xbox One owners starting on October 23, it looks like those that pre-ordered the game in North America will have a chance to play it even earlier.
Bethesda and the Xbox Insider Program are collaborating to offer a one-time stress test event that will take place on October 13. While participants will gain early access to the game, progress achieved during the test will not be saved. Those participating will also be under a nondisclosure agreement, so you can expect a strict lockdown of things that can be shared to the general public with regards to the game.
Although the game is close to being released, Bethesda does note that what you will find in the stress test is still a "work-in-progress build so expect performance, stability, and graphics issues". If all of this sounds interesting to you, you can see the full instructions below on how to participate in the stress test.
How to Participate
This stress test is limited to users who:
- Have pre-ordered Fallout 76
- Are in the United States, Canada, or Mexico
If you haven’t pre-ordered, and want to participate, pre-order here.
If you pre-ordered Fallout 76 digitally on Xbox One:
- Log into your Xbox One with the same account you used to pre-order
- Download the Xbox Insider Hub App from the Store
- Launch the Xbox Insider Hub and look for “Fallout 76 Stress Test” under the Insider Content tab.
- Click “Join,” accept the terms of use, and you’ll be brought to the Store to install the game.
- Be sure to install ASAP so you are ready to join the Stress Test on Saturday!
If you pre-ordered the physical version of Fallout 76 on Xbox One, log in to your Bethesda.net account to see if you received a token to redeem on your Xbox. Simply redeem the token provided through your Bethesda.net account and install.
As mentioned before, the stress test will take place on October 13. As for times, you're looking at just one four hour window that will occur from 2pm to 6pm PT. Bethesda is recommending you follow its Twitter handle to have the most up to date schedule.
