With not-E3 week behind us and The Game Awards still a couple of months away, this is usually a slow time period for games showcases. But, Microsoft today announced a brand-new broadcast coming soon that will focus on its third-party gaming partners.
Dubbed the Xbox Partner Preview, the showcase will feature upcoming Xbox and Windows games from major publishers and indie studios. This will include trailers from "Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Remedy Entertainment, Studio Wildcard," and other unannounced studios.
The Xbox Partner Preview will go live on October 25, Wednesday, at 10AM PT / 1PM ET / 6PM BST with over 20 minutes of content. Xbox's YouTube, Twitch, regional variants, ASL, Audio Description, and other portals will be streaming the showcase. The YouTube streams will be 4K at 60FPS, while others will be 1080p at 60FPS.
The announcement lists Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth in-game activity reveals, Alan Wake 2 launch trailer ahead of its October 27 release, Ark: Survival Ascended gameplay reveal, Dungeons of Hinterberg unveiling, and more as incoming during the showcase. Of course, Xbox and PC Game Pass will be a major focus too, with new reveals slated to arrive for the popular subscription services.
Being an Xbox showcase, Microsoft had a special note for fans expecting any announcements from Microsoft's newly acquired Activision Blizzard King studios. This was to confirm that no "additional news, game reveals, or Game Pass information" from those studios and games will be present at the event.
The decision makes sense considering Xbox head Phil Spencer recently said it will be 2024 before Xbox players get to see Call of Duty, Diablo, and other hit titles arrive to Game Pass. It's unlikely that the recently leaked Xbox hardware will get revealed at this showcase too, with The Game Awards being a much more likely candidate for those.
