Today, the Party Chat beta has started through the Xbox beta app, and can be downloaded on Android from the Google Play Store. The Party Chat feature has been available on the Xbox One for quite some time but is now rolling out to handsets. This will give players the freedom to conduct chats through their phones rather than relying on the console. This could give users the freedom to roam about when necessary and maintain a proper connection, which is a problem with current wireless solutions.
If you are interested in testing out the app for iOS, you will need to fill out a separate form to become eligible. The beta is run through Apple's TestFlight program and is limited to a max of 10,000 testers. Microsoft will be looking for broad coverage of devices and regions, so there is a chance you might not be selected for the beta. The company has stated that they will make their best efforts to add users if the space permits. If you are selected for the beta, you'll receive an email, if you hear nothing within 30 days, you'll probably want to resubmit the form and try again.
