Microsoft scaled back some of its plans for this month's E3 gaming conference in order to save some game appearances for Germany's Gamescom expo, and now the company has announced its press conference for the Cologne-based event will take place at 4 p.m. local time Tuesday, Aug. 4.
According to a post on Microsoft's official Xbox Wire website, the press conference will showcase exclusive Xbox One games such as "Crackdown," "Quantum Break" and "Scalebound." Microsoft also claims it will "share some exciting announcements" at the event, which takes place at 10 a.m. Eastern U.S. time.
In addition to the press conference, Microsoft's booth at the event will be open from Wednesday, Aug. 5, to Sunday, Aug. 10, with the first day being reserved for media attendees. The company says "Halo 5: Guardians," "Forza Motorsport 6" and "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will be available either as playable demonstrations or videos displayed in a theater.
Microsoft's decision to showcase some of its big-name exclusive games at Gamescom came after rival Sony announced it wouldn't have a press conference at the event despite taking part in the conference last year. Instead, Sony has said it plans to promote its games during a press conference for Paris Games Week on Oct. 27.
