Alleged images and specifications of rumoured upcoming Xiaomi laptops have been leaked. The laptops are described as being similar to the MacBook Air in terms of their appearance but instead of using Thunderbolt, the Xiaomi laptops will use USB-C.
The specifications we have for the device so far are as follows:
- Skylake processor – Intel Core i7-6500U (2 cores, 4 threads, base clock speed 2.50GHz, Turbo speed 3.10GHz).
- 8GB RAM.
- 11” and 13” variants.
- Ships with Windows 10.
These specifications dispel fears that fans had about the upcoming laptops on which processor the devices would use. An earlier rumour had stated that the notebooks would use Intel Atom processors as a way to cut costs.
According to this leak's source, the laptop will not come equipped with a touch screen. This decision was made to cut the costs of the device. It's also believed that the different sized variants of the laptop will have similar specs across devices.
Xiaomi will allegedly announce both notebooks on July 27. At that time we should get many more details, including what other specs are included inside the machine as well as how much it'll cost to buy the device. Xiaomi has only entered into the Western markets in a limited capacity so it is unclear whether these laptops will launch outside the company's main target countries.
