Xiaomi has been fairly committed to Android for a majority of its devices, but there are definitely some exceptions. Although the first Mi Pad was powered by Android, the second iteration gave users a choice, offering the Mi Pad 2 in a Windows 10 variant. A little over a year has passed since the last release and it appears that Xiaomi could be gearing up to offer a successor with the upcoming Mi Pad 3.
Although the tablet has not been officially confirmed, the folks over at GizmoChina have found what appears to be leaked presentation slides that show quite a bit of detail. The tablet looks beautiful, is a bit larger than its predecessor and comes in at a svelte 6mm thin.
According to the leaked slides, the tablet will offer:
- 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536 display (264PPI)
- Intel m3-7Y30 processor with Intel graphics
- 8GB DDR3 RAM
- 16MP rear camera with 8MP front-facing
- 8290mAh battery
- USB Type-C
- 239.5 x 164.5 x 6.08mm
- Windows 10
While last year's Mi Pad 2 was smaller and cheaper, the new tablet offers so much more. For this reason, it's no surprise that the upcoming tablet could be priced higher with the slides revealing a starting price of ¥1999 (roughly $288) for the 128GB version and ¥2299 (roughly $331) for the 256GB version. The Mi Pad 3 is expected to makes its official debut prior to the end of the year.
