It's becoming something of a regular occurrence for Microsoft to offer discounts on its flagship Surface Pro 3 tablet. Unsurprisingly, the company offered some tasty deals for Black Friday and over Christmas, but similar offers popped up in early February, and again in March.
And now, less than a month later, Microsoft is again offering up to $150 off all but the entry-level Core i3 64GB model, and is once more including a free protective sleeve for the tablet.
The discounts available this time around are identical to those on offer last month:
- 128GB Core i5 | normally $999 | now $899
- 256GB Core i5 | normally $1,299 | now $1,149
- 256GB Core i7 | normally $1,549 | now $1,399
- 512GB Core i7 | normally $1,949 | now $1,799
This latest promotion applies only to the Surface Pro 3, and not to the Type Cover 3, or any other accessories. These discounts are exclusive to the United States, and will be available via the Microsoft Store until April 27.
Still, even if you miss that date, it seems likely that another round of discounts will only be a few weeks away. This does, of course, raise the question of why Microsoft doesn't simply cut the prices of the Surface Pro 3 permanently, rather than running the risk of negative perceptions associated with such frequent discounting.
But if the Surface Pro 3 is still a bit out of your price range, even with these latest reductions, the more affordable Surface 3 might be what you're looking for. Make sure you check out our review.
