If you're a user of the Yezz Billy 4.7 and hoping for an upgrade path to Windows 10 Mobile, you're in luck. The phone is now eligible for the Windows Insider Program.
The news comes just over a week after support for the device was added to the Windows Device Recovery Tool. It's common for a device with eligible hardware to be added to Windows 10 support after being added to the Recovery Tool.
Sadly, the Upgrade Advisor app still shows that there is no official support for the device; however, back when the Nokia Lumia Icon finally received an official upgrade, Jason from Microsoft told Neowin the following, which would imply that an official upgrade can be assumed based on Insider Preview support:
We added the Icon back to Insider flighting back in May. This was known that the device would be getting a formal update.
Yezz did promise to upgrade its eligible handsets by last fall. Of course, the timeline should have been altered by the fact that Microsoft didn't begin rolling out upgrades until the following spring.
This can also be seen as a glimmer of hope for those with third-party unsupported devices, such as the HTC One M8 for Windows or the LG Lancet, both of which should have eligible hardware.
If you want to sign up for Insider Preview builds on your Billy 4.7, download the Windows Insider app. Once it's installed, open it and choose a ring.
Thanks to Helder for the tip!
