Earlier this month, the Redmond giant revealed the latest iterations of its productivity two-in-one and its traditional clamshell, the Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2. Unfortunately, while the devices were revealed to much fanfare and positive media reception, the company decided to not livestream the event.
Thankfully, it did have cameras capturing the goings on at the launch, and it has now decided to showcase some of the most important moments on the official YouTube channel for Microsoft Surface.
First up is a video of Surface guru Panos Panay talking about Microsoft's overall design philosophy, and how good design requires products to simply dissolve into the background, letting you focus on what you want to do without getting in the way.
Second, we are treated to the announcement of the Surface Pro 6. Featuring Intel's eighth-generation processors and an all-new black finish, Panay's unending grin when first revealing the two-in-one to the media is perhaps the best analogy for the excitement it generated.
Lastly, we get to see the moment when Panay revealed the Surface Laptop 2. Like its smaller, convertible sibling, the new model of the Surface Laptop is only a spec refresh, and it also comes with a black finish. Panay boasted of an impressive 99% user satisfaction for the previous generation. Hopefully, the Surface Laptop 2 will carry on with this tradition.
