It's been a while since I even thought of this processor, but while browsing /. I came across the story, that Zilog, is filling for Chapter 11. :(
(Yea, I know it's not PC news, but just how many of us got our first start into computing with these lovable processors (dwarfed my todays processors), with the little amounts of memory and resources that were available... Ed.)
Zilog, founded in 1974, brought us such famous Z80 CPU computing such as the Sinclair ZX80/ZX81, Amstrad CPC/PCW (now there's a name that brings back memories!!!), Specturm 48 and beyond, and who cannot forget the TRS-80 (or commonly called the "Trash 80"), plus countless other uses for this little well used processor.
It's been a long ride for Zilog, I from time to time run a Spectrum emulator so I have fond memories of this little processor.
