It was only a few months ago that ZTE updated its current flagship, the Axon 7 with Android 7.1.1. Now it is bringing that update to the firm's smaller sibling, the Axon 7 Mini.
Since the Axon 7 Mini started life with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, the latest update to Android 7.1.1 should be a huge improvement. Along with the ability to communicate with an expanded assortment of new emojis, users will also be able to do more by utilizing the Multi-Window feature that allows the use of two apps, side by side, in a split-screen configuration.
Axon 7 Mini users should also see marked improvements with battery life with an improved Doze mode and T-Mobile customers will be happy to know that the handset will now have support for T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling.
In order to get the update, be sure that your phone has 30% or more battery life, head to the 'settings' and click 'system update'. This will start the process of downloading the update and applying it to the phone. While personal information shouldn't be deleted, it is probably a good idea to back up your data before updating to Android 7.1.1.
The Axon 7 Mini is now on sale for a limited time at ZTE's website and can be had for $199.98.
