Remote desktop software AnyDesk 3.0 Beta ships with address book feature, new UI design

AnyDesk is a new remote desktop system and enables users to access their data, images, videos and applications from anywhere and at any time, and also to share it with others. AnyDesk closes this gap by intro­ducing DeskRT, a video codec specifically designed for graphi­cal user inter­faces. Exploi­ting the special proper­ties of GUI image data (e.g. large areas of the same colour, high con­trasts, sharp edges, repeating patterns in the time and spatial domain, or the linear trans­lation of image con­tents), DeskRT is able to bring about very high image quality and low res­ponse times for the user.

New Features

• Implemented an address book feature which allows online management of computers. The address book will allow you to tag and sort items into groups. You will need a license in order to use this new feature. Please get an evaluation license on anydesk.com/evaluation-license.
• Improved the speed dial with an advanced mode.
• The speed dial now filters the previous connections on user input.
• The speed dial and address book now show the online state of computers. Red: Offline, Green: Online, Grey: Unknown
• Implemented favorites in the speed dial. These will also affect the Windows jump list.
• The accept window now shows the incoming remote sessions in tabs instead of separate windows.
• The accept window will now stay open until it is closed by the user so supporters can leave a chat message after giving remote support.
• Improved the chat view.
• Session settings are now saved and restored when connecting to the same remote computer again.
• The custom client (exe and msi file) can now embed the license key for easy deployment.

Fixed Bugs

• Fixed a clipboard file copy bug when the user connected to a freshly started Windows machine onto the logon screen and then logged on a user.

Other Changes

• New user interface design.
• Updated the localizations.
• Remote reboot not possible after switching sides.
