The new Apple Watch is out today, and it pretty much has one new feature, an always-on display. Announced a week and a half ago, you'll finally be able to see the time without raising your wrist. Apple says that the display can go between 1Hz and 60Hz, so the new feature shouldn't affect battery life by much, still promising 18 hours.
To be fair, this is a feature that Wear OS watches have had since the very beginning in 2014. In fact, Wear OS (called Android Wear back then) predates the original Apple Watch by about six months. Apple has produced five models of its Watch between then and now, and this one is the sixth one. It would seem that the Cupertino firm wanted to get it right before it implemented the feature.
Other than that, the Apple Watch Series 5 is pretty similar to the Series 4. I went with the 44mm space gray aluminum model, opting not to spend extra on the stainless steel one like I did last year. Check out our unboxing video below:
