Looking at the specs of Huawei's new MateBook 13, it certainly seems like a premium device. It has Intel's new Whiskey Lake CPUs, dedicated graphics with an Nvidia GeForce MX150, and a QHD touchscreen with a 3:2 aspect ratio. But when the firm announced the PC at CES, it said that it's aiming this device at the mainstream, competing with the MacBook Air.
While it's heavier than the MateBook X and it doesn't have the same audio quality, everything about the MateBook 13 just screams premium. It even has the fingerprint sensor in the power button, which scans your fingerprint when you power on the device, rather than having to press the button again after it boots up.
It comes in an aluminum chassis with just two USB Type-C ports and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. While we were originally told that it would ship with the MateDock, the review unit did not arrive with one.
The model that was sent to me includes a Core i7-8565U CPU, 8GB RAM, a 512GB SSD, and the Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU, which retails for $1,299. The lower end model comes in at $999, and that has a Core i5-8265U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and integrated graphics.

Update: Huawei has confirmed that the retail unit will come with the MateDock 2.0, and the charger is 65W.
