At CES this year, Lenovo announced two Chromebooks, the Chromebook Duet and the Flex 5 Chromebook. I've already got my hands on the Chromebook Duet, and now it's time to take a look at the Flex 5 Chromebook, also known as the IdeaPad Flex 5 Chromebook.
The Flex 5 Chromebook is a 13.3-inch Full HD convertible that will set you back $409.99, and with that in mind alone, it starts to look promising. It has an Intel Core i3-10110U CPU, 4GB RAM, and 64GB eMMC storage, along with pen support, although the pen doesn't come in the box.
There are also some new Chrome OS features, which are already found on the Chromebook Duet. The OS now has a tablet mode that automatically makes apps full-screen, and it has gesture navigation. As you can probably guess, the gesture navigation is very similar to what's already found on newer versions of Android.
There's one other thing that I find particularly interesting about the Flex 5 Chromebook, and that's that it weighs in at 2.97 pounds. Any $400-ish device that weighs under three pounds is quite impressive, and it feels really premium. Check out the unboxing below:
