Announced at CES 2020 this year, the Skagen Falster 3 is another take on Fossil's Gen 5 Smartwatch. Actually, when I met with Fossil, various devices were described as Gen 5 Smartwatches and Sport watches, something that made a lot of sense. It gave some continuity to the company's vast array of devices and brands.
Fossil is responsible for smartwatches from brands like Georgio Armani, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Diesel, Misfit, and of course, Danish company Skagen. Being a Gen 5 device, it has similar specs and features to Fossil's own Carlyle.
One of those key features is that you can answer calls when it's paired with an iPhone. That's something that other Wear OS OEMs haven't been able to do. Specs include Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of storage. That full gigabyte of RAM is critical on Wear OS, as the performance boost over 512MB is quite noticeable.
The Skagen Falster 3 is unique in its design, which is a more minimal look with its stainless steel casing that has flat sides. It comes in four styles, one of which is limited edition and designed in collaboration with X by KYGO. There's also an X by KYGO watch face that you can use on any of them.
