Atmospheric sci-fi shooter Morphite gets delayed, new release date set for September 20

After making an announcement in July, Morphite will be slightly delayed, making its debut on September 20. The title will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and iOS devices.

Morphite will follow the story of the main protagonist, Myrah Kyle, who is a young woman that is on a mission in space - exploring the galaxy and researching life forms. While players will be in a vast environment, it isn't without its dangers, with the potential to run into hostile enemies. Along with exploring the galaxy, players will discover how Kyle's past is somehow linked to a precious material known as Morphite.

What makes the environment being explored special is that it will be randomly generated, making it a unique experience for every player. No Man's Sky, promised a similar concept, albeit with a procedurally generated universe, and bit off a bit more than it could chew, so it will be interesting to see how this game fares once released. Morphite is deeming itself an "atmospheric sci-fi shooter" drawing inspiration from "classic console games including Ratchet and Clank, Metroid Prime and Turok".

As mentioned previously, the game will arrive on all current consoles and iOS devices on its new release date of September 20.
