Linx 7 Windows tablet now available for £49.99, with free Office 365 worth £59.99

If you've been planning to buy an Office 365 Personal subscription in the UK, or perhaps intending to renew your existing sub, you could pay the £59.99 annual fee - or you could pay even less, and get a 7-inch tablet in the process.

The Linx 7 tablet - usually priced at just under £80 - is now available from retailer dabs.com for just £49.99, which includes a free one-year Office 365 Personal subscription.

The tablet comes with Windows 8.1 pre-installed but like other such devices, it's eligible for Microsoft's free upgrade offer to Windows 10. As you'd expect of a device with such a tiny price tag, the Linx 7's spec sheet is pretty modest:

  • 7-inch IPS LCD with 1280x800px resolution
  • Quad-core 1.33GHz Intel Atom (Bay Trail-T) Z3735G processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 32GB storage (plus microSD slot)
  • 2MP rear camera
  • 2MP front-facing camera
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • 3500mAh battery

We tested the Linx 7 last year with Windows 10 installed, and found that there was a lot to like about the affordable device. It has a pretty good display, and decent performance, although its battery life was somewhat disappointing - but having adjusted our expectations to its ultra-low price tag, we found it to be one of our favorite devices of the year.
