UK gaming companies thank NHS workers with a free game of their choice

Healthcare workers are some of the most needed professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic, and over the past few weeks, many initiatives have rallied communities to thank frontline workers during these troubling times. Now, a Ukie initiative kickstarted by gaming journalist Chris Scullion is rewarding National Health System (NHS) workers in the UK with a free game of their choice, thanks to a partnership with Keymailer.

The initiative includes over 85,000 games to choose from, and it has something for all major platforms - PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices - and more games are being added every day. The library of games comes from a total of 63 game publishers, including Electronic Arts, Bethesda, Xbox Game Studios, Sega, and many more.

You'll need an NHS e-mail address to sign up for the giveaway, so it's not just anyone that can go and get a free game. It's also worth noting that each worker can only claim one of the free games, so you'll want to choose wisely. If you don't find anything you like, you can always wait a little longer, since more games are still being added.

With shelter-in-place orders leaving people without much in the way of outside entertainment, gaming has been one of the most-benefitted industries during the pandemic. If you work in the NHS and are looking for a way to unwind, you can claim your free game here.
