Acer TravelMate X514-51 unboxing and first impressions

If you're looking for a Windows 10 laptop that's insanely light and doesn't seem to make many compromises, the Acer TravelMate X514-51 might be your best bet. It weighs in at only 2.16 pounds, but it doesn't seem to make the compromises that the 1.96-pound Swift 7 makes.

For one thing, it has a real ultrabook processor, an Intel Core i7-8565U. That's a 15W quad-core chip with eight threads, similar to what you'd expect from an ultrabook or convertible. On top of that, it comes with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD.

It also has a full backlit keyboard, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and there's even an HDMI port. The bezels are a bit larger, although that lets Acer put the webcam above the screen, and the starting price is just $1,099.99.
