Carry a little bit but rarely use it.  And I hate hate loose change.

Always good to have cash on hand.  Some times when systems are down and cannot accept electronic payments.

Depending on were you are at, pulling out a big wad of cash is not a good thing to do.

Yes, always have cash on hand and never carry change. Have a monster old wine bottle filling up with it though. Don't particularly trust card machines and definitely don't trust using some stupid app on my phone to pay for things. Although I don't particularly trust card machines, I do use them most of the time for paying for things.

Why do keep saying read your previous comment? I don't care about your personal reasoning and it has nothing to do with my original comment but thanks.

I guess I gotta do it for you then.

But I've had my debit card stop working when out of state (stupid bank fraud protection), and its not a good feeling when suddenly you don't have any access to money.

@SuperuserWhy was that hard for you to see as relevant?

You said after, and I quote:

OK LOL Debit cards also exist.

But what I said is not relevant to your comment?

LOL....

Why would I be jealous of scum bags that have a total of $500 to their name?

You assume that all they carry is all they have. You assume their character by the fact they have more money in their wallet than you do.  You assume that how they get it out is for your benefit and not them looking for a bill of a denomination.

Why is it so hard to understand I am talking about a certain type of person NOT everyone who may be carrying around a lot of money?

Because each of your justifications seems to be based upon your assumption.

Weed dealer doesn't except cards? :D

Actually, they do (in a roundabout kinda way).  Often buying items of greater value than the amount of weed you are purchasing, on their behalf.  These are then sold on.  Expect to pay a lot more though, because you are the one introducing inconvenience and complication.

Um, I was referring to my comment on reasoning. Try to follow along.

You talk about debit cards, after I specifically said I’ve had them stop working? Clearly you didn’t read what I was saying.

Sure OK? It's a assumption that is 99% correct. Again, it's almost always a certain kind of person I see doing this.

We really need a "Love" emoji, I mean I don't just like what you said, I love what you said about keeping money in your car. So I just use the Thanks Emoji as I feel it's a level above like. Also why is there no thumbs down but instead goes straight to a face palm?

Should be

I also wouldn't mind a puke emoji

Please cite your sources for those stats. Or is it just another of your jealous assumptions?

I very rarely carry cash as it's annoying, BUT I also get annoyed having to dig my cards or phone out too.  It's 2021 for Zod's sake.  Time to start using biometrics everywhere; it's a darn sight harder to steal someone's finger/retina print than it is their wallet!

Also, get rid of transaction fees, as that stops the small businesses taking electronic methods of payment.

Also also, why are checks still a thing in America? They're possible the second most insecure method of payment there is AND are soooo 1980's...  Most of the rest of the western world has almost completely discontinued the things...

I usually have £20 in my wallet "just in case" and a few coins, however since the lockdown started in March 2020 I've used cash twice. Once at the local barbers (who since started taking contactless) and at work when we all ordered a hot sandwich in.

Where possible I'll use contactless via my phone, or card failing that.

Surprisingly cheques seem to still be a thing in the UK for high value purchases, its not uncommon for us to have thousands in cheques at work. Although this is mainly pensioners who seem to pay like that. We also still have a fax machine... which I'll never understand why certain people print things out and fax them! both are very 80's I agree. I've never wrote a cheque and the only fax I've sent is to see if someone else's fax machine was working 😅

i still carry some cash, if i go to the Pub i use it there if not i just use my Debit Card but ( Marvel stadium ) here in Melbourne Australia will now only do Cards, no Cash excepted but i think thats what will happen everywhere in time, i just dunno how people will still go about using Pokie Machines if all goes to Cards
