That all seems fine except I dont think McGrady will sign with Orlando. He might sign with the Spurs or Kings and boost that team. Then it will be interesting to see what can be done.

As for Shaq, he wont leave the Lakers not this season. He cant and wont. He cannot exercise the free agency option until the end of the next season.

Why wouldn't McGrady re-sign with Orlando if Shaq went there? There's not one viable reason for him to leave Orlando if the Magic and Lakers work out a trade. If anything, it will make Tracy McGrady an even better player than he already is. Look what Shaq did for Kobe and the rest of the Lakers.

And Shaq certainly can leave the Lakers. If he says he will opt out of his contract next season and be a free agent, the Lakers will lose him for nothing. By saying he wants a trade, this way the Lakers will get something for him...like the #1 pick in the draft.

And Orlando has alot of dead meat on the roster to cut and get some payroll room.

i wish sacramento would kick some ass. webber stojakovic, divac, bibby, and christie all deserve it. hell, so does miller

Why does Chris Webber deserve it as much as those other guys? I'll give you Bibby, Stojakovic, Christie, Divac, and Miller (better yet, how about Bobby Jackson?), but Chris Webber?

The guy could have been a champion at the college level and the NBA level, but plain and simply put, he doesn't want it bad enough.

Kevin Garnett...now there's a guy who deserves it.

Biggg Lakers fan here , i was thinking maybe kobe would go to the Bobats because maybe kobe asked to be un-protected for the expansion and then the Lakers could possibly get T-mac. But nobody knows what is going on so we'll have to wait till seasons new

OMFG its OVER!

wow. this rules! i love it when dynastys fall. like.

go pistons. go marlins last year for beating the yankees. i was glad when the bulls were over too.

this rules! sorry lakers fans.

There could be several less-expected changes to follow.

Karl Malone has already opted out of his contract, although he hopes to play for the Lakers if healthy.

Gary Payton and Derek Fisher could follow Bryant and Malone and opt out of their deals. However, Payton reportedly is less likely to leave now that Jackson is going and Fisher seems to be having trouble deciding.

Lakers are just like the Bulls - fall apart after winning consecutive championships... :(

How could you even compare the two?

The Bulls were dismantled after WINNING a championship, the Lakers haven't won a championship for 2 years now.

Also, the Lakers are being dismantled because they are greedy and selfish. The Bulls never had any qualms on the court. It was Michael Jordan's team, plain and simple. The Lakers can't decide whose team it is (although, it should be Shaq's, bar none).

Bulls management wanted to start rebuilding to save money. This is the one area that you can compare the two: Phil Jackson was denied extensions from both teams.

If Michael Jordan hadn't retired, it's a 99% chance the Bulls would have ran off 6 straight championships using the same core players, Michael and Scottie. The Lakers have had 5 years with THE SAME TEAM, and only managed 3 titles.

Safe to say, there will never be a basketball team like the 1997 Chicago Bulls. EVER. This year was the one year that the 72 win record was in jeopardy, but even 4 future Hall of Fame players couldn't win 65 games for the Lakers.

i love the rumor that has shaq going to the clippers.. trading him within the building, that would be interesting.. i dont think jerry west will do it. because if the clippers actually started competing, and were to outdraw the lakers.. all hell would break loose

Jerry West is in Memphis...if he still has that much pull in LA, I'm impressed. :p
