Launchy 2.0 Released

The font it should use is 'HaxrCorp 4088', witch I dont have, so I used calibri.

I also made the scrollbar of the dropdown to fit the skin better. I'm not sure about the handle of the scrollbar though.

Anyway, here's the result, plus the skin itself.

Oh, I take no credit for the skin itself, as I only migrated it :p

Is there a way to change the font color in the search and for the launchy text to the left of it to white? I opened the INI file but I don't understand the color formats used there like 65x65x65

On a different note...I'm shocked that it's using 14mb right now...

Hmm how hard is it really to go through a start menu? Lazyness at its finest.

I never really saw the appeal of this program until I tried it a few months ago. Now it's one of my favourite programs for XP.

I personally like it for finding files and folders that are deeply buried. For example, if I want to open "report1.doc" that's located in 'My Documents/Work/Projects/2007/December/Reports,' I can just type 'report1' and it opens the file. It doesn't save an enormous amount of time, but it adds up over the course of the day. I find it very efficient, and better than having shortcuts in my taskbar and desktop.

the INI file has no use anymore since it was replaced by the QSS file and the misc.ini.

The colors are either in RGB(65x65x65), in a #xxxxxx format, or just plain text.

Has anyone else experienced greatly varying CPU usage, even when Launchy isn't being used actively? I noticed that my system was getting really slow, and when I looked in the task manager, there was Launchy using constantly changing CPU percentage, everywhere between 0-100%.

However, this worried me:

-Launchy has been completely rewritten with QT

As long at QT does not mean QuickTime, I'm sure it's still a good prog. The memory footprint on my system is 808KB right now. I'll see what I get after the upgrade.

QT is a cross-platform toolkit and library from Trolltech (recently acqired by Nokia). Nothing to do with Quicktime. Opera and Google Earth are two major apps written using QT.

I ike launchy, and use it on my laptop. I'll use it to launch a program like... once every 2 days. The idle memory footprint is pretty good.

How can something be written in quicktime...
