AMD is allegedly going to launch a trio of new cards based on refreshed Navi 2X GPUs next month in April on the 20th and 21st, according to whispers on the Chiphell forum. These GPUs are built on the same architecture as the existing RX 6000 series RDNA 2 GPUs but the memory subsystem is getting an overhaul with faster 18Gbps GDDR6 VRAM.

First up we have the RX 6950 XT, the card that will supersede the current Radeon flagship, the Navi 21-based RX 6900 XT. Core-wise, we have the same count here too, which means the 6950 XT will also be 80 Compute Units (CU) card but with faster 18Gbps VRAM. AMD could be launching this GPU to take on Nvidia's mighty RTX 3090 Ti that is landing reportedly at the end of this month.

Team Red already has its own Radeon 6900 XT Liquid Cooled (LC) card with fast 18.48Gbps memory. However, it is a rare specimen to come across and the core is also based on Navi 21 XTXH GPU. And in terms of what you can expect, the RX 6900 XT LC was reviewed by German media outlet PC Gamers Hardware, and the card is on average 6% faster than the vanilla 6900 XT in rasterization output and 9% faster in terms of ray-tracing.

Other than the RX 6950 XT, AMD is also reportedly releasing the RX 6750 XT and the RX 6650 XT as successors to the Navi 22-based RX 6700 XT and the Navi 23-based RX 6600 XT. And just like the 6950 XT, these ones too will purportedly feature faster 18Gbps memory.

The rumor also adds that AMD is also planning to add the Navi 24-based Radeon RX 6400 in the DIY market, in some form. This was something I personally argued would have been the better release than the widely criticized RX 6500 XT.
