Electronic Arts has given Battlefield fans a big incentive to purchase the upcoming first person shooter Medal of Honor Warfighter. The publisher has confirmed rumors that anyone who pre-orders Warfighter will be able to gain early beta access to Battlefield 4, the next game in EA's other modern day sbooter game series.
The Battlefield 4 beta access was confirmed via a post on the Medal of Honor Warfighter pre-order page. No other details about the beta test, or indeed of Battlefield 4 itself, have been revealed. EA previously offered beta access to Battlefield 3 when people pre-ordered the revamped Medal of Honor in 2010.
Medal of Honor Warfighter, which centers on special ops teams throughout the world fighting against terrorists, is being developed by EA's Danger Close team in Los Angeles. It is using Frostbite 2 for its graphics engine, which debuted with Battlefield 3 in 2011. Warfighter will be released on October 23 in the US, with UK residents receiving it on October 26.
Again, nothing else has been revealed about Battlefield 4, but it's safe to say that EA is aiming for a release sometime in 2013. It will likely be developed by their Sweden-based team at Digital Illusions.
