CD Project RED is busy at gamescom currently showing off more gameplay of its next highly-anticipated RPG Cyberpunk 2077. Those at home who want a glimpse at what's being shown, the wait won't be long, as the studio announced today that it will "unveil a 15-minute edit" of the gamescom demo next week in a stream.
The stream will kick off on August 30 at 11AM PT across CD Projekt RED's Twitch and Mixer channels. In addition to the gameplay segment, interviews with the developers behind the project will be shown as well, giving "insight into the thought process behind creative decisions, information about Pacifica—one of the districts of Night City—and TONS of stuff on playstyles you’ll be able to adopt when you launch Cyberpunk 2077 next year."
Although the studio was already prepping for an unveiling at PAX West alongside a developer panel, it has decided to forgo this and host this livestream instead. "There are many logistical (and some creative) reasons behind this decision," said the studio in its announcement. "The most important thing we want to say is that we’re sorry for the change of plans." A Cyberpunk 2077-themed cosplay contest will still happen at PAX, however.
It will certainly be interesting to see how the gameplay has changed and evolved from the original demo CD Projekt RED released last year.
Cyberpunk 2077's launch is still some time away, with it heading to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on April 16, 2020. A Google Stadia release was also confirmed during gamescom, but it doesn't appear to be releasing alongside the other platforms.
