Well, that's one mystery Square Enix trademark taken care of. Nintendo's European division today announced that it will publish the Game Boy Advance Final Fantasy I & II compilation in its territory with the tentative subtitle "Dawn of Souls." The upgraded collection of the first two 8-bit Final Fantasy RPGs will arrive in Europe on December 10.
Both games have been substantially upgraded for Game Boy Advance. The original Final Fantasy includes several hours of bonus dungeons, while Final Fantasy II features many new event sequences and improved gameplay balance. Square Enix recently trademarked the "Dawn of Souls" subtitle in North America, giving rise to speculation that it referred to an entirely new game. Obviously, that's not the case.
